Biography
 

Frederiki Pappas was born in Paramythia, the capital of the province of Souli in Epirus. Epirus was the beloved land of Homer and Hercules, the native soil of the King Pyrrhus, as well as of Olympia, the mother of Alexander the Great.

It is renowned for its archeological sites, Lake Aherousssia (the mythical passage to the world Under) Aherondas River, and the Oracle of Dodoni.

 

The American Philhellene Edward Everett when passing through Ioannina, the capital of Epirus, on this tour of Greece, wrote: ''Within the towering barrier of blue mountains encircling the horizon there nestles the Oracle of Dodoni, the entire mythic Soul of Greece.''

Ms. Pappas is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and has participated in many individual exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

Her paintings are in museums, banks, organizations, and private collections. Some of them were presented during the honorary exhibition in the USA Congress in 1966, for the celebration of the 175 years anniversary of Greek Independence.

Following the warm response her work received she deceived to complete the undertaking by publishing the book: ''The portraits of Historic American Philhellenes'' with characters of Greek Heroes and American Philhellenes who participated in the Greek war of Independence of 1821.
